2025 - Jörg retires

Our senior boss Jörg enjoys his well-deserved retirement since 01.01.2025.

2024 - First trainee stays at our company! 

In 2024, Oliver successfully completed his apprenticeship as a software developer and we are delighted that he is staying! He is now supporting us as an application IT specialist in the development team.

2023 - New training profession

Since August 2023, our Emily supports our team. With her apprenticeship as an industrial management assistant, we are now offering a new training profession.

2020 - Training company

In order to further develop the company and promote the continuous learning process, Marc Wempe received his ADA certificate in 2019, so that Wempe Elektronic GmbH officially became a training company from 01.08.2020

2018 - Expansion of the management team

Fresh breeze - solid sails

Marc Wempe was appointed CEO at the end of 2018. Evelin Moser-Wempe and Antje Wempe were also appointed as Prokurists. 

With a total of 17 employees, the company currently supplies the handheld radio charging market. 

2017 - 30 Years of WeTech

After 30 years of producing handheld radio chargers and mastering the introduction of digital radio, Wempe Elektronic GmbH celebrated its anniversary with its employees and their families.

The succession was announced in 2017 under the slogan “Fresh breeze, solid sails”. 

2015 - Introduction of digital radio

Building a new hall

Nine years after the planned introduction of digital radio for the 2006 World Cup, digital radio equipment was introduced. This was a major challenge for a small, medium-sized company like Wempe Elektronic GmbH: With up to 24 people, all orders were processed just-in-time. 

In order to increase the company's capacity and meet market requirements, a new storage hall was built in 2015. 

At the same time, Marc Wempe and Antje Oldermann (today: Antje Wempe) joined the company to support and take over the management in the long term.

2009 - Expansion

Construction of the high-bay warehouse

Demand for handheld radio chargers continued to grow, so a high-bay warehouse was installed in 2009 to store the individual raw materials.

Furthermore, the sale of electrical goods was discontinued.

1996 - Relocation

The new head office

The company grew and in 1996 the former canteen in the American barracks in Bad Hersfeld was purchased.

During this time, the sale of electrical goods ran alongside the production of handheld radio chargers.

1987 - Foundation

1993 - The first production building

Wempe Elektronic GmbH was founded in 1987 by Jörg Wempe and Evelin Moser-Wempe. In the beginning, Wempe Elektronic GmbH was a trading company for electronic components. Time and again, security forces complained to Jörg Wempe about discharged batteries during their shift at the American base in Bad Hersfeld. At the time, the batteries were not designed to last the duration of the shift. To help the security forces, Jörg Wempe developed the first handheld radio charger.
