German ElektroG​ 

Die nachfolgenden Hinweise richten sich an private Haushalte, die Elektro- und Elektronikaltgeräten nutzen. Bitte beachten Sie diese wichtigen Hinweise im Interesse einer umweltgerechten Entsorgung von Altgeräten sowie Ihrer eigenen Sicherheit.

1. Notes on the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment (old) and on the meaning of the symbol in accordance with Annex 3 to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)

Owners of old appliances must ensure that they are collected separately from unsorted municipal waste. Waste electrical and electronic equipment must therefore not be disposed of as unsorted boiling waste and, in particular, should not be disposed of as household waste. Instead, these old appliances must be collected separately and disposed of via local collection and return systems.

Owners of old appliances must also separate used batteries and accumulators which are not enclosed in the appliance before they are handed over at a collection point.

The latter does not apply if the old appliances are separated from other old appliances in accordance with § 14 paragraph 5 sentences 2 and 3 of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)​ § 14 Absatz 5 Satz 2 und 3 ElektroG  im Rahmen der Optierung durch die öffentlich-rechtlichen Entsorgungsträger zum Zwecke der Vorbereitung auf die Wiederverwendung separiert werden. 

Anhand des Symbols nach Anlage 3 zum ElektroG können Besitzer Altgeräte erkennen, die am Ende ihrer Lebensdauer getrennt vom unsortierten Siedlungsabfall zu erfassen sind. Das Symbol für die getrennte Erfassung von Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten stellt eine durchgestrichene Abfalltonne auf Rädern dar und ist wie folgt ausgestaltet:

Besitzer von Altgeräten können diese im Rahmen der von öffentlich-rechtlichen Entsorgungsträgern eingerichteten Rückgabe- oder Sammelstellen abgeben. Gegebenenfalls ist dort auch eine Abgabe von Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten zum Zwecke der Wiederverwendung der Geräte möglich. Nähere Informationen hierzu erhalten Sie von der jeweiligen Sammel- bzw. Rücknahmestelle.

3. Note on privacy and data protection

Some sensitive personal data (e. g. on a PC or a smartphone) may be stored on old equipment that is to be disposed of and must not be allowed to fall into the hands of third parties.

We expressly point out that end-users of old devices must take responsibility for the deletion of personal data on the devices to be disposed of.
